Emergency Medical Aid Program (EMAP)
The Emergency Medical Aid Program provides funding to individuals, animal rescuers, non-profit organizations and pet owners to help them care for animals in medically life-threatening situations.
When an unexpected disaster affects a family, EMAP can provide financial assistance to help an animals' immediate needs. Disasters may include:
- Large-scale disaster, such as a flood, wildfire or hurricane
- House fire
- Abuse
EMAP may provide funding Veterinary care to treat injury or illness caused by the disaster.
Financial aid usually range between $100 and $600. Funding decisions are based upon several factors, including: urgency, financial need, available funding and eligibility.

The animal(s) must:
- Be spayed/neutered (aid may include spay/neuter costs).
- Microchipped
- Be a companion animal who was directly injured or displaced by personal, natural or manmade disaster
OR
- Be any animal involved in the rescue and recovery efforts during a natural or manmade disaster (e.g, search and rescue dogs).
The Veterinary clinic must:
- Be aware of the disaster affecting the client and the client's financial need.
- Provide Three Wishes Foundation with a written estimate at Three Wishes Foundation request.
- Accept a check from Three Wishes Foundation.
Emergency Medical Aid Program cannot help if any of the following apply:
- The animal's medical needs are not a direct result of a disaster (house fire, flood, etc) or other situation as outlined above.
- The veterinary care has been completed more than two weeks ago.
- The medical care has already been completed and assistance is needed paying the bill.
- EMAP funding resources have been depleted.
Three Wishes Foundation reserves the right to turn down an applicant for any reason.
